My husband is the strongest man I have ever met. He is thoughtful and caring and loving and passionate, although he occasionally likes to pretend otherwise, but he is also the toughest man I know, enduring even the most torturous of tickle attacks and going through some of the most intense military training in the world. He is the definition of hard-core. He is handsome enough to make my heart flutter when I see him, even ten years after I first laid eyes on him, and he can cook like nobody’s business. He is the man who first introduced me to the martial arts world, he is one of the reasons I dreamed about joining the Marine Corps, he is why I own a motorcycle, and he is the crazy in our family. He is an inspiration and an encouragement to me, and he is my hero.
This one is a keeper, friends.
First, I would like to apologize for bad grammar and what not; Arabic has stolen my ability to English.
I come from a family of 6 that at one time was located in a small town west of Toledo, Ohio named Swanton. It was an old and simple town, but we loved it. However, now we are quite scattered. I love with my lovely wife (as you well know) here in North Carolina. My oldest sister lives with her husband in Ohio, while my second oldest sister lives with her husband in Illinois. My younger brother lives in Malaysia and is a senior in high school. My parents live in Indonesia and teach at a university there. I grew up in a very loving and Christian family, filled with super smart siblings and parents. Unfortunately I was the only trouble maker, earning myself the nickname “speed bump” from a few teachers. My parents worked very hard to raise us all well, from young children to Godly adults. I’m no less of a trouble maker…just more constructive I guess.
I’ve lived in Northern and Southern Ohio, Chicago, New York, Indonesia, Malaysia, California, Texas, and now here in North Carolina. I’ve loved every one of these places for different reasons, though dragging me out of the US for the first time was a real pain. That first year in Indo was incredibly hard, but looking back I would do it again in a heartbeat. I met my wife-to-be there! I also had the pleasure of riding backwards on my fathers motorcycle carrying our thanksgiving turkey to our house. A fun, but very painful, story. Malaysia was a gorgeous place, and I miss it very much. I miss having the ocean as my backyard, and not as a place of torture (we do some workouts in the ocean). I think one of my favorite places that I lived was New York. It was absolutely gorgeous, I loved the seasonal changes that occurred, and I got to start on my football team there! It’s also where I enlisted into the Corps over 3 years ago now.
My interests are rather eclectic. And somewhat strange. I absolutely love mythology, psychology, and philosophy. I believe their study can much improve your way of life and help you learn more about yourself and your fellow man (or sometimes in the case of my job, how to eliminate him). I especially love Viking and Celtic mythology because of the strong undertones of strength, war, glory, and honor. I mean, who else longs for nothing but to die in battle? Much to my beloved’s chagrin, I listen to a lot of rock and heavy metal. I hate pop. It’s empty, idiotic, feel good music and not a word of it is real. I also love quotes, which underneath this I will share my favorites and who they are by. I enjoy reading, mostly non-fiction personal accounts of war, fictional accounts of battles, spy novels, anything having to do with Vikings or Celts, and mythology. I must say though, my all time favorite book is the Count of Monte Cristo by Alexander Dumás. I also very much enjoy studying the writings and histories of famous leaders and generals (Spartacus, William the Great, Ghengis Khan, etc.) Physical fitness and martial arts are also very important to me.
As you all may know, I am currently a US Marine and am very happy to be doing what I do. On my next enlistment I hope to join MARSOC. After that, I desire to work as a mercenary for any one of the more prestigious corporations; we’ll see. After a good few years of work, I would like to retire from this life and become a dorm parent at my old high school and finally retire and open a pub in Ireland, living quietly until the end of my days.
My favorite quotes–
Joker 3:
We stop looking for monsters under the bed once we realize they’re inside of us.
Harley Quinn:
Sometimes the only way to stay sane is to go a little crazy
Bane 2:
I’m not a product of my circumstances, I’m a product of my decisions
Punisher 1:
“Some people would tell you that I’m crazy. They would be wrong. It’s not crazy when the state of the world makes you want to kill everyone responsible. It’s crazy when it doesn’t.”
