Showing grace to the clueless husband: part 1

If you’ve been around my blog for any length of time, you’ll notice different themes pop up. These themes and topics give my readers insights into my life, my experiences, my joys, my passions, and…my struggles. Writing about struggles on the internet is a risky move, especially for this mama who would rather deal with cluster feedings and diaper blow outs then tell someone about my emotions. A bottle to kill the crud, first aid kit in liquid form, and an oil more valuable than gold: March edition

One of my favorite oils is also one of the most expensive. Historically, it was used to treat every illness known to man. In Biblical times it was considered more valuable than gold. It can support dry skin, boost immunity, calm stress, relieve post-baby blues–oh, and it’s such a powerful oil the three wise men gave it to baby Jesus in the Bible. Any idea what this incredible oil could be?tell me the rest!

Mothering: the job you can’t quit

Every Saturday morning, we have a tradition: My husband makes a fancy-shmancy breakfast and watches the baby while I get to shower in peace and then spend time alone until it’s time to eat, and it’s fabulous. Last Saturday, something came up. We didn’t get our nice breakfast, I didn’t get my alone time, and the rest of the day I was ridiculously uptight and irritable because those two precious hours on Saturday morningtell me the rest!

Say bye-bye wall to sad drywall

Two years ago almost to the day, I trekked twelve miles total downtown to pick up eight giant pallets which I then pushed back up a huge hill to our little California apartment. I borrowed a hand truck from a local furniture store to go back and forth from the shop where I was picking up the pallets to our apartment six times.  Two days later I was in the hospital with a 104.4tell me the rest!

So yesterday I took him to the doctor…

Thursday morning was the first time we’ve ever had to take my son to a doctor. Being in the essential oils business, there’s a lot of pressure to keep my kid healthy–that’s what my product is supposed to do, isn’t it? Yes. While I believe that “there’s an oil for that” in just about every circumstance, sometimes kids need doctors. I was honestly a little scared about taking my son totell me the rest!

To bless just one person a day

Last night, I asked my husband to pray that today would be a productive day. I asked him to pray that I would manage my time well and take initiative because since I work from home I don’t have a schedule and that makes it so easy to waste the day away. Now I’m sitting at my computer chatting with a new friend on Facebook and posting pictures of cupcakes intell me the rest!

I am the mom bully

My husband and I love Target. The possibilities there are endless, and I don’t think we have ever been without leaving having purchased something we didn’t need because everything there is cheap and superstores still excite this third culture kid. One of my favorite (or least favorite) things about Target is that those who shop there seriously give The People of Walmart a run for their money. The other day we sat intell me the rest!
