My name is Emma Hall, and I am a young wife and mother of five. Yep, five kids! My husband and I are high school sweethearts, married at 18. He spent five years in the Marine Corps, during which time we followed him back and forth across the country. Nine moves + one deployed husband later we have settled in Ohio (for good?) where we work to balance chaos, joyful children, toxic free living, renovating our farmhouse, and living simple.

The edge of a boom

These last few weeks have been seriously frustrating. First, I tried to host an essential oils class and nobody came. Then I put out a brilliant Facebook ad on Beachbody income potential and I received over 100 comments from interested people and I wrote to and then followed up with every single one of them and yet I didn’t make one sale. Today I posted on all the Facebook mom groupstell me the rest!

When nobody came to my party

My husband has been trying to encourage me off the ground in my Young Living business for a while now. This weekend I attended the Young Living Live Your Passion rally in Raleigh and the ladies that spoke inspired me to push myself to, as one lady so eloquently put it, “punch fear in the face.” My fear in this business is rejection. How to punch that one in the face?tell me the rest!

21 Day Fix: week 2

There has been an unopened box of Pop Tarts staring me in the face all week. Only now it’s open, because my husband decided it would be a good idea to test my will one night. He literally dangled cookie dough Pop Tarts in front of me trying to convince me I should eat one, but I stood my ground and emerged victorious. Yes, my husband has indeed become thetell me the rest!

4 ingredient clean eating chocolate

I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVEEEEEE desserts. I live for desserts. (Just kidding, I don’t–I live for Jesus, but he gave me desserts and I am pretty darn thankful.) If it wouldn’t kill me, I would eat dessert after every meal including snacks for the rest of my life. But eating sugar-filled donuts, corn syrupy pecan pies, and even ostensibly healthy whole wheat chocolate chip cookies probably would kill me. Nottell me the rest!

21 Day Fix: week 1

After hours of staring longingly into my fridge and even more hours of debating when we were really actually going to start the eating plan, I am excited to announce that my husband and I have completed the first week of the 21 Day Fix! *cue round of applause* Let me tell you something, people–it was no walk in the park. The (almost) first day we very diligently portioned everything out intell me the rest!

It is okay to not like your husband

I’ll be honest, tonight was not supposed to go like this. It’s Saturday. My husband and I are supposed to be at home together, watching a movie and binge eating everything in sight. Instead, my husband is off at the beach getting some time alone and I’m sitting in front of the computer by myself writing about my marriage, which is really quite uncharacteristic of me–I am not one totell me the rest!

The oily motherload

This month is what we like to call an investment–in other words, my husband and I spent way too much money but there will be a long-term payoff. Every once in a while, the free product promotions offered by the Young Living essential rewards program are just too good to pass up. That was definitely the case this month when I looked at those promotions and saw all the free oils helpedtell me the rest!
