My name is Emma Hall. Good day to you.
As a missionary kid and prior military wife, I belong nowhere. Eight years on a tropical island in Malaysia during my childhood…five years as a Marine Corps wife following my husband wherever they told us to go…eleven moves in seven years…
Perhaps now I specialize in making home. Taking wherever we are and filling it with color and joy and laughter.
I’m a mom of three. A sweet four year old boy who is the most gentle yet violently playful child I know, a fire-spirited two year old daughter, and the gift of quiet calm God knew I needed, my infant son. We live in the DC metro area–for now–but God has other plans for us and they won’t keep us here for long.
Once upon a time, I worked as an instructor at a Muay Thai gym in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Let me tell you, I fell in LOVE. The intensity, the way the workouts made me feel, the heavy bags, the burn the next day, being able to kick people as my job—incredible. I also worked as an English teacher at a Burmese refugee school and those children were my pride and joy. Once upon a time, I left high school and worked full time as a barista, spending all my free time developing healthy and natural recipes and cooking for my family of seven.
Since then, I’ve lived in CA, NC, CO, VA, and England. I’ve moved on to my own homes, my own kids, my own family, but I still have the same passion for healthy, natural, joyful living.
My passions have expanded to design. Home birthing. Scratch made food on a budget. Disciplining and discipling kids in love. Growing with my husband of five years. I want to build a house and learn a trade and work with my hands.
Lonely? Here, you will find a friend. Need to laugh? I hope you can appreciate my dry, sarcastic sense of humor. Struggling in your marriage or with your kids? Oh, friend, I have walked down that road and come out the other side.
So come journey with me.
This is my story–glory be to the God who gave it all to me.
